SSL VPN to a USG 50

Postby krochat » Mon Feb 27, 2012 8:49 pm

Hello,

I'm trying to establish a SSL-VPN connection to a Zywall USG 50 with viscuosity by using the SSL-VPN option of the firewall. Does anybody has establised that before? Is there a "How to"?

Thank for the help.

Hi krochat,

I'm afraid I am not familiar with that router/gateway, however I know some of Zyxel's products support the OpenVPN protocol (which is what Viscosity supports).

Generally you'll need to be provided with a connection configuration file, and some associated certificates (the router/gateway usually generates these for you) which you can import into Viscosity (see the Getting Started guide). I suggest you get in contact with your system administrator to find out if that particular gateway supports the OpenVPN protocol (and that it is enabled), and what steps you need to take to get a configuration file you can import. Please note that "SSL-VPN" doesn't necessary mean the gateway supports OpenVPN - it could be using a different SSL-based protocol.

Regards,
James
