Pop Up Alert Bubble

Postby DasFox » Sat Mar 26, 2011 5:10 pm

I think it would be really great to have a 'Pop Up Alert Bubble' show up when a connection is started and disconnects, especially the disconnect part and not just seeing the icon change color.

I think it's good in situations for paranoid users who might make a mistake of not keeping all their traffic routed on the VPN, when this is what they want to accomplish so seeing a nice bubble alert that will help to notify people of a disconnect, so in this rare, but possible situation they will see this better and stop their online activities to protect themselves...

After all, just having the icon only change colors, if you don't look up at it, it can be difficult to realize, but having something popup on the screen, below the icon will catch the eyes attention easier.

Also if people don't like this idea, then, have an option to simply disable the bubble alert in the preferences.

I hope you will please add this in a future version...

THANKS

Hi DasFox,

Viscosity has Growl integration, which provides such a feature.

Simply download and install Growl and you should start seeing Connected/Disconnected notifications from Viscosity. Growl also allows you to customise the appearance, position, and sound of these alerts. You can download Growl at: http://growl.info/

Cheers,
James
