Can't make a connection

Postby Rassk » Fri Mar 30, 2012 8:35 pm

I am currently using a wi-fi connection. I would like to know how to make the connection? In case I want to import a connection from a server it asks for Remote Server Address and also for Authentication. As I understand it means that I have to type the IP together with the username and password of the Wi-fi connection?? I am not sure what or where I could actually get the Remote Server Address since I think it is not a IP address..Help?

Furthermore if with the help of importing from the server I can't connect, how to make a new connection then? The only problem is what should I write in the colums (to be more exact, where to get this information from my computer).

I would also note that I also can use cable internet connection that comes from the house internet service. If it is easier to explain with this connection then I could use this.

It's kinda sad right now since I have paid for the service but not actually getting it :(

Hi Rassk,

Your connection details come from your VPN Provider. We've have detailed guides online covering everything you need to know - please refer to the following links:

Is the VPN provider the internet company that I am using to get my Wi-fi/Cable internet? Or does it have to be a separate one that can be also found via internet?

For a note, I'm in China

Hi Rassk,

An Internet Service Provider (ISP) and a VPN Provider are usually different. Please see the previous links - they explain the difference in detail, and link to a list of VPN Service Providers (if you wish to subscribe to a VPN service) you can sign up with (or you can setup your own OpenVPN server).

Cheers,
James
