I have been struggling for days to connect my OS 10.5.8 mac to a US based VPN. I get the following error in my log but I have to confess that I am a Windows user so I have no idea how to resolve.

Nov 14 14:12:07 openvpn[836]: TLS Error: TLS key negotiation failed to occur within 60 seconds (check your network connectivity)
Nov 14 14:12:07 openvpn[836]: TLS Error: TLS handshake failed

Any help you can give me would be much appreciated...

Thanks,

Paul

Hi Paul,

Unfortunately it is a fairly generic error message, however it is usually triggered by network connectivity issues or corrupted key/certificates. The following post on the forums has some suggestions to run through:

If you are attempting to connect to a commercial VPN provider you may also like to get in touch with them to ensure no changes have been made since you were supplied with your config file etc.

Cheers,
James

Thanks James. I think the key was corrupted. I uninstalled the application and library file, reinstalled and everything works. Great app!
