So I have a few sites which for whatever reason have banned the IP address my VPN service appears as. For those sites, I have manually redirected them through the default gateway under the VPN settings.

I was wondering though, if it is possible to have those sites still use the VPN DNS servers? I have seen a few posts online mentioning that this is a possible setup when using VPNs but never read any specifics about how to configure it.

I have 'send all traffic over VPN connection' and 'full DNS' enabled on the VPN's settings in Viscosity, and also have the IPs of these websites added to the manual routing table configured to use net_gateway, and can confirm that this setup works (those sites no longer ban my IP). Is this use of 'full DNS' already accomplishing what I'm after? Or is there something else I would need to do?

Hi cloudline,

Yes, your VPN's DNS servers will be getting used for all resolutions, including those that resolve to addresses you have routed outside of the VPN connection.
