First of all; great product.

I do have a strange issue with DNS lookups not working in Automatic or Split mode and it might be related to my LAN. Because I don't have the issue when I connect to the VPN using my iPhone's 4G data connection on the same machine. With the exact same settings.

Where should I begin to troubleshoot? I'm using 1.7.16 and the only way to get DNS working when on my LAN is by selecting Full DNS. Which I don't prefer.

I recommend checking the connection log in the first instance and see if there are any error messages or warnings:

Almost make sure the DNS Domains you want to use for your connection have been set (either in Viscosity for your connection, or being pushed by the OpenVPN server).

I'd also recommend checking the search domains set on your normal network connection (in Apple Menu->System Preferences->Network->Advanced->DNS). If you have any domains manually listed here that you want the VPN DNS server to be used for in Split Mode they should be removed.
