DNS Splitt won't be disabled

Hi Viscosity team and Community,

A day ago I gave a try to Viscosity because I wanted to test the feature "Split DNS". The function went perfectly. My local DNS requests were pointed to my local DNS Server (Home-ISP) and the remote Requests (Company Domain) were redirected to the office DNS Server.

The problem started when I wanted to reverse the configuration. I first change the feature "DNS Split" to Automatic (Default) in order to get the DNS info from my VPN Server. My suprise was that even when the function was setup on default I was still seeing the DNS requests going to my local DNS Server instead of the companie's DNS.

I did a flush of the DNS, I reinstall the certificate of my VPN, I even remove the Viscosity software and I'm still seeing this same problem.

I also tried to install the certificate in another laptop and I see the DNS requests still going to my local DNS instead of the company's DNS. At this point I can't really understand how could this happen, I mean, I just modified the DNS Split at my client VPN and not at the VPN Server. I don't find it logical

I'm using wireshark to prove where the DNS request is been sending to. Also the Viscosity log shows that the Split DNS feature was still activated even when I change it to "Default" before (This was proved before I deleted the Viscosity software)

I understand that the DNS server is not reachable but why keeps showing that "Split" is still enabled

Hi matchsp9,

It sounds like the DNS mode you're after is "Full DNS", rather than "Automatic".

Automatic mode will automatically choose between Full and Split DNS modes depending on the routing setup on your VPN connection. If it is a split-traffic setup, then Split DNS will be used, which is likely the case here.
