Save username

In the Mac version there is a way to store the username but still prompt for the password. I would like to do the same on the windows OS. I tried by deleting the password key in the LoginInfo.xml file. It worked to some degree, after connecting, it threw the message that the usename or password was incorrect and then displayed the login dialog with the username filled in correctly. I've searched the forum but didn't find much on this. Appreciate any help.

Hi Brian,

Exit Viscosity and then run the following from command prompt or Start->Run:

"C:\Program Files\Viscosity\Viscosity.exe" SetPref RememberUsername true

After you restart Viscosity, Viscosity will now remember the last username you entered but not any passwords (providing you don't check the box to save the username and password in the prompts you receive). You may like to clear any saved credentials in Preferences -> Advanced as well.

Regards,
Eric

Hi Eric,

I tried this solution but I didn't have success. I entered the command from the command prompt with and without admin rights. I typed the command it in, as well as, copied and pasted from here just to make sure I didn't fat finger it in.
I'm on Windows 10 Pro and this is a new Viscosity install. I hope you can show me the error of my ways. :D

Thanks,
Brian

Sorry brain1961, try this instead:

"C:\Program Files\Viscosity\Viscosity.exe" SetPref RememberUsername true

Eric
