When trying to map a network drive on windows 7, the connect script seems to execute, but the mapped drive does not show up in "computer". I know that when using the OpenVPN client, there are some commands that can be added to your config file that will allow you to map a network drive on Windows Vista/7. For example....

script-security 2 system
cd "c:\\program\files\\openvpn\\scripts"
up "%windir%\\system32\\cmd.exe /c updown.bat"
down "%windir%\\system32\\cmd.exe /c updown.bat"

I've tried adding similar lines like these in the advanced tab of the Viscosity client, but they don't seem to work, and in addition, they seem to prevent the client from connecting to the OpenVPN server. I know that mapping a network drive when using the connect script with Viscosity running on Windows XP, works without any issues.

Is the some "extended options" that exist that can help with this issue?

TIA

Hi TIA,

We highly recommend you use Viscosity's inbuilt script support.

In the Advanced tab, you will find options to select a connected and disconnected script. You can simply select your updown.bat script in both of these areas and Viscosity will run them.

For more information on scripting, you can refer to the following - http://www.thesparklabs.com/support/viswin_scripting/

If you're still having problems, you will need to post up your script itself so we can check nothing is wrong with it.

Regards,

Eric
