Hi,
Whenever my surface pro sleeps and then wakes up after some time then viscosity process is suspended and doesn't respond at all. even in task bar pop up i can click the active connection name. So I have to end task from task manager to kill the viscosity and restart it many times a day and mostly at the start of the day surely. i don't shutdown my surface. it just remains in sleep mode. Ideally it shouldn't be in Hung state, rather it should automatically try to reconnect and should ask for password.
Other issue is that during the day if it get's disconnected and prompts me for the password then it keeps saying that password is incorrect. Untill i press cancel, it disconnects and then if i connect then same password works.
Any ideas how can I fix or work around these issues

Hi jalaldeen,

The second one will be caused by your VPN Server. It most likely only allows one connection per user at a time. If a dropout happens unexpectedly (for example or WiFi or Internet drops out), the server doesn't get notified of your disconnect, so it thinks you're still connected and will not allow what it thinks is a second connection. Given a minute or two, the server will realise that your connection has dropped and allow you to connect again.

As for your first issue, that is certainly odd. Does Task Manager report the process as suspended?

Eric

Hi,
yes process does report it as suspended. On second issue, if i keep retrying for several minutes still it doesn't work. if i press cancel on password prompt and try to reconnect then it immediately connects.

Hi jalaldeen,

I'm afraid I don't know why Viscosity is being suspended, we'll need to look into that and see what we can find out. Please check any other software you have installed to make sure it doesn't have any features that might be suspending software, these could be power saving features of AV software for example.

Next time you have problems reconnecting you're welcome to post a copy of your log, however I can assure you that the issue is the server rejecting your reconnection attempt, I'd recommend getting in touch with your VPN Provider - https://sparklabs.com/support/kb/articl ... ovider-is/

It can't be server rejecting it. as it connects fine as soon as I press cancel and then reconnect with same password.

mosy annoying is the other problem where process is suspended after sleep. u have to terminate the process from task manager every time computer goes to sleep
