Hi everyone,

These days I have been using viscosity for connecting to my vpn server. I have to say that I am really happy with the client. I have just got one issue at work. Every time I try to connect my vpn, the internet disconnects minutes later. I think the it is related with the broadband connection. It seems there is a safe switch which drops the connection every time that it detects abnormal traffic flux. Is there anyway to bypass this problem? It only happens when I used the Ethernet connection. I have to say that the first time was working perfectly fine during hours then suddenly this problem happens every time. Should I change my port?Currently I am using a openvpn configuration with stunnel using the port 443.

Kind regards,

Hi dramauh,

It sounds like you might have an IP clash when at work. The first thing to check is if this is the case, and then if anything is changing after a period of time. I'd recommend taking a copy of the following commands from Command Prompt after you initially connect and everything is working, and then another copy when things stop working as expected and comparing them. You're welcome to post them here however please keep in mind this is a public forum and these details may contain sensitive information:

ipconfig -all
route print

Also check your OpenVPN log for any obvious errors or warnings -

You're welcome to email these logs to us instead of posting them here.

If you think that your ISP or Broadband modem might be dropping the connection, you will need to contact your ISP or Modem manufacturer to query them if this is the case.
