Ship complete bundle to remote users (client, configuration, certificates)
Got a problem with Viscosity or need help? Ask here!
Greetings. I have family members in Ukraine and Russia who currently need secure connectivity with relatives and friends in the rest of the world.
I run an OpenVPN server on OpenBSD in the US and connect to it using Viscosity on the Mac. This setup uses self-signed certificates and all works fine. I'm presuming my relatives are mostly Windows users.
My question: What do I need to do to ship ready-made Viscosity setups to family overseas? In other words, how can I bundle the Viscosity client with the necessary configs and certs so that family members can install it and be ready to connect?
Thank you!

Hi nycvelo,
We have a guide here for bundling a Viscosity installer with configurations and any settings you want to change - https://sparklabs.com/support/kb/articl ... s-windows/
Alternatively, you can have them install Viscosity, then send them a zipped (visz) configuration they can just import and use.

Hi nycvelo,
Exporting a connection from Viscosity will include everything; configuration, certificates, keys, scripts, etc.
If you are making a bundle, it is up to you to ensure you include everything the configuration needs when creating it.

Eric
