I am seeing this in the logs:

2023-02-08 16:06:23: Testing address: [Public IP redacted] Route points into VPN network
2023-02-08 16:06:23: Route: 0.0.0.0/0 utun10
2023-02-08 16:06:23: Disconnecting connection as it is no longer reachable
2023-02-08 16:06:23: State changed to Disconnecting (Network Change)
2023-02-08 16:06:23: event_wait : Interrupted system call (code=4)
2023-02-08 16:06:23: /sbin/route delete -net 10.196.244.0 198.19.118.1 255.255.252.0
2023-02-08 16:06:23: Closing TUN/TAP interface
2023-02-08 16:06:23: SIGTERM[hard,] received, process exiting
2023-02-08 16:06:23: State changed to Disconnected (Process Terminated)
2023-02-08 16:06:24: Viscosity Mac 1.10.5b11 (1621)
2023-02-08 16:06:24: Viscosity OpenVPN Engine Started
2023-02-08 16:06:24: Running on macOS 13.2
2023-02-08 16:06:24: ---------
2023-02-08 16:06:24: State changed to Connecting

I am seeing these disconnects after a seemingly random period of time.

The "Route points into VPN network" is intriguing. Is this a Viscosity or macOS issue? I don't see this on Windows.

I saw this on 1.10.4 and updated to beta version but that didn't change anything.

Hi lkinley,

What is likely occurring is your normal network connection is briefly dropping out. When this occurs, macOS will reassign the default route to the next available interface (which is typically going to be the VPN network interface, which obviously won't work as it would result in VPN traffic being routed into itself). If you're using a Wi-Fi network, it's likely dropping out briefly. Try moving closer to the Wi-Fi access point, or look for things that could cause it to drop briefly (like a microwave). If you're using a wired network, it could point to a problem with the cable or the switch/router it's connected to. Cheap USB ethernet adapters can also sometimes have issues.

Cheers,
James

I am connected to multiple VPNs simultaneously and seeing only one disconnect with this error, however.

If what you propose is the case, I would think all of them would disconnect.

We can take a closer look for you if you'd like. To proceed we'll need a copy of the details requested in the following article. Please ensure that the updated log covers from initially connecting until after the drop out occurs. You may prefer to email these details to us, rather than posting publicly on the forum.
