Since upgrading to client 1.12 (1725), my display constantly shows small Safari prompts asking for permissions. They say, “Viscosity.app” Wants to Use “openvpn.com” to Sign In. This is very frustrating because I have to click Continue on each prompt to dismiss it. I reinstalled the client, but that didn’t solve the issue. Did anything change in the new version?
This dialog message will appear when using the “Open in Web Browser” method for web authentication. To have the same behaviour as previous versions of Viscosity had, you can instead use the “Open in Viscosity” method (which won’t cause the message to appear). The following article includes more information, including other workarounds:
The above article also details how to submit feedback to Apple about the popup, which we encourage you (and anyone else annoyed by this dialog) to do, as sadly it’s not something that Viscosity can control. Hopefully with enough feedback Apple will provide a way to permanently dismiss the message when using “Open in Web Browser” method.
Cheers,
James
