I have just updated to Yosemite (early dev access) and my Viscosity is working erratically:
I can successfully connect to the VPN but everytime I do my wireless connection gets rebooted and then I loose internet access.
Anyone experiencing Yosemite incompatibilities yet?
Any ideas?
Since the latest update I can connect to my VPN but the connection keeps resetting. It seems to be stuck in a perpetual loop.
1.4.9 did not make any difference on my side.
On Mac Pro (Mid 2010) here, and having issues with Viscosity as well. When connected, I Chrome and a few others work without problem, but Safari, Firefox, and most of my apps don’t. Once the VPN is turned off, everything works again.
Upgraded to the latest build (thought I had the latest version based on the build number…) and all is well now.
With the update to Yosemite B2 Viscosity has stopped working altogether for me. It appears that Viscosity is trying to make use of /System/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.5/Python, but the Yosemite B2 seems to have broken that directory. sym-linking to a newer version (2.6, 2.7, and 3.4 appear to be in there) does not make Viscosity happy.
I have to roll over to Tunnelblick until this is addressed, and that makes me all kinds of sad.
I`m experiencing the same. Yosemite broke it, the 2.5 folder is missing a lot of files ![]()
Hi All,
Yes, Viscosity links to an older version of the Python framework to maintain Mac OS 10.5 compatibility. It’s unclear at this stage whether Apple are removing support for 2.5 on Yosemite, or it is a bug in the latest Developer Preview, however we’ve decided to finally bite the bullet and drop support for Mac OS 10.5 and 10.6 in the latest beta build.
Using this latest build should resolve any issues under the current Yosemite Developer Preview. It can be downloaded from:

Thanks James. I can confirm that the build you pointed at addressed the problem.
I am still having issues: although connection is up, for some strange reason my computer cannot resolve local domains.
DNS support is enabled
Apply DNS setting simultanously is disabled
-Although I have tried all possible combinations, the problem does not seem to be there…
Hi lazyphoton,
About all we can recommend this stage is to make sure you’re using the latest beta version of Viscosity (you’ll have to update beta releases manually, at least for now). The OS X developer previews have their own long list of bugs and issues, so until Yosemite reaches release stage it’s difficult to identify where an issue may lie.
Cheers,
James
I confirm it solves the issues on Yosemite Preview 14A283o
Since updating to Preview 4 I’m not able to connect. Anyone else having any issues? Just curious if I’m the only one.
Temp solution here:

In public beta, it can’t connect to any of my server, and it works perfectly in Mavericks with same settings.
Created an account to say Thanks James
Worked for me too.
Guys, without knowing it this really fixed my issue (Viscosity not working when I upgraded to Yosemite, not even opened when I double clicked from the application folder).
Fix:
1- I send the Viscosity icon to the trash bin from the application folder.
2- I Downloaded the latest version from Viscosity page (v1.5.3).
3- I did run the .dmg file and moved the new icon to the application folder.
When I did run it again it just ran like a charm and it recognized all the previos configuration and everything. I did not had to do anything else.
(I just created this account to post this fix
