Viscosity not working after upgrade to 1.5 (Yosemite)

When I launch Viscosity after the upgrade, nothing appears to happen. I have no menu bar icon and no way of connecting. Activity monitor shows Viscosity running. The following appears in console messages:

Hi Gidgidonihah,

You can find some discussion regarding this one in the beta thread - in general it seems to be a Yosemite issue. However based on some other feedback we received we did have a play around with fallback text encodings in the latest beta version which may help (or may not). If you’d like to give this a try the direct link (at the time of writing) to the latest beta is:
